ccd training courses, qualifications and providers

There are many organisations across Australia that provide training in some or all of the skills required to become a successful community cultural development practitioner.

  Graduate Diploma in Community Cultural Development

CAN SA ccd Graduate Diploma

The Graduate Diploma in Community Cultural Development, delivered by distance throughout Australia, is a unique post graduate course addressing the skills and knowledge required to work as a ccd practitioner.

There are also numerous short courses assisting practitioners to develop ccd specific skills, such as cultural mapping or resourcing a ccd program.

It is hoped that specialised ccd competencies and qualifications framework will be developed and endorsed in the next two years. This will enable a range of vocational training qualifications to be offered, from Certificate III to Diploma.

  Online Diploma in Community Cultural Development

Diploma in Community Cultural Development (91020NSW)

CCDNSW's Diploma in Community Cultural Development (online) provides participants with the
competencies needed to work in community cultural development at a project and program
management level.

In particular this flexible diploma course is designed for cultural workers, organisers, artists, as well as people working in fields allied to community cultural development, including: environment, health, youth work, social work, Indigenous, and cultural diversity.

This Diploma is offered online. Full internet delivery is offered for four modules, with the fifth module
offered through a combination of online and work-based project activity.

The course can be undertaken either fulltime in one year, or part-time over a longer period.
The combination and order of modules undertaken is up to you.

Training in related vocational areas such as community development, management or local government can also contribute to a practitioner's skills. Likewise, ccd skills are transferable to other sectors.

For information about training available in each state, contact the Community Arts Network, where there is one. Community Arts Networks in Australia are also Registered Training Organisations. They deliver a range of accredited training programs as well as non-accredited professional development activities to support practitioners.

Regional Arts organisations may also provide information and advice.

It is also recommended that practitioners contact their state funding body for the arts for information about financial support for professional development.
