Hi all, I will also do a small update as the bigger threads don't seem to post.

I have only two weeks left in Seattle - CRAZY! Time flies.

My three months here have consisted of a rather intensive research and development stage for two long-term CCD projects that I hope to continue both in Seattle and in Australia.

The Arts Up project that umbrellas the two projects is fantastic in supporting and nurturing the initial planing stage of community projects. It has really been a very open and creative experience. So much so I felt guilty about it. Time to plan... think creatively... research a community... make mistakes and plan again... is this possible?

I have met some amazing people and learnt a lot about Domestic Violence issues, the history of Tibet and Tibetan culture and have had the chance to develop long term CCD models for video/media based projects that I hope to see through to an implementation stage either in Seattle next year or back home in Oz.

It has been a little frustrating because I am collaborating with two local artists that both teach at colleges and they have been very busy. They both have go a lot more time now and I am leaving! Working within the Arts Up framework hasn't really allowed me to fly solo with the projects and it has been rather restricting in that way. However, it has really made me think about projects that span over two or three years and that was one of the things I really wanted to develop. I have had the opportunity to observe and learn about many of the different types of CCD projects that have developed as part of the Arts Up project and have presented Australian CCD policy and philosophy at various forums and meetings.

I have developed close relationships with the two artists I have been working with and aim to 'transcend international borders' through linking the projects to projects in Australia. For example, the Tibetan Ass. and artist Sandy Cioffi plan to help preserve Tibetan culture by actually sharing cultural practices through 'live web broadcasts' between Tibet or India and Seattle's Tibetan community - this could also include Tibetan communities in Australia...

I have lived with ten women in a massive old mansion in the most beautiful part of Seattle, which has worked out really well!

Can't wait to share my experience and hear all of the other Out There Everywhere adventures later this year....Tamsin:)
