Thread: A conversation
Date Posted: 2004-06-28 19:30:33
Last night I had a conversation with Jon who works here on the project hilltribe.com.
We were talking about the trials and tribulations of this place, of which there are many!
However we both concluded that apart from all the nagging work issues, the best memories are found when you`re riding a motorbike through rice fields, in the back of the ute singing Akha songs with a granny, when you`re forced to eat delicious food...
The other truely amazing thing is that we counted the languages that are spoken in this workplace on a regular basis. I`ll list them there are 13.
Southern Thai Central Thai Northern Thai (Lanna) Isaan (thai) English Akha Lahu Lisu Hmong Mien Karen French Japanese
the other languages that people can speak but we don`t hear as much as the ones above are Chinese and Cambodian.
