DCC Granollers Getting ready for the 2nd session of the conference series on Community Cultural Development (CCD)!!
We are already busy at the City Council of Granollers (Spain) to organise the 2nd session of the international conference series on CCD. We had a successful 1st session in October of 2005, focusing on the power and possibilities of legislative theatre (Boal) and sharing a myriad of experiences from community projects employing art as a tool for social change from Australia to Zanzibar!
From February 9th to 12th we will meet again to discuss the topics of involving city administrations into CCD process as well as organising successful fundraising. We will further talk about different concepts of community and which different art forms can successfully be employed for CCD processes.
Two speakers from Australia, Jane Gronow and Georgie Davill, from Community Arts Network South Australia will be speaking at the conference.
We have opened the online registration and encourage you to register early, as the workshops fill up quickly. Registration deadline is the 1st of February 2006. This time we offer workshops on funding, dance-and-movement therapy, circus and forum theatre, all in their respective relationships to social transformation and CCD projects.
Conference participation is open to all individuals and entities that are interested in employing the arts for social transformation. Cultural administrators, artists, social workers, educators, cultural activists, lawyers, political activists, politicians, all are invited to participate in this process of exchanging experience and methodologies. Our intention is to collectively develop an applicable definition of CCD and to create an international network of practitioners of Community Cultural Development.
