Canberra Playback Theatre presents 'Against the Current' Sometimes life is swimming in deep water and sometimes you're floating on a current downstream. But every once in a while you've got to swim against the current. Stand up for what's right, try something new, attempt the impossible. 'Against the Current' is an opportunity for the audience to come listen, remember and share stories of going with and going against the currents of life. Playback is an improvised form of community theatre. In playback theatre members of the audience share stories from their own lives, which actors and musicians then perform immediately, without rehearsal. The evening is led by a conductor, who assists tellers and performers through the process and who warms the audience up to sharing stories on the performance theme. Friday 30 April 2010 - 7.30pm Belconnen Community Theatre 26 Chandler St, Belconnen Community Centre Entry by donation - suggested donation $15, $10 concession Stay for a cuppa afterwards (finishes about 9.30) Enquiries: Rik 0428 364 809 http://www.canberraplayback.org/
