Hands On, Handing On began with “Finding Common Ground” – a day of activities at a local historic quarry led by a geologist, bush tucker expert, sculptor, historian, Palawa elders, etc. There followed Community Mapping, a Story-Telling/History Day, Craft Expo and Holiday Programs involving many members of the local community across generations. Events were documented with photos, video, drawing, collage, writing brought together in one A3 Australia Post Pac which can be posted to other communities. We hope they will respond with a Post Pac of their own. The Collinsvale Post Pac contains: Jennifer's quarry quilt, a fold-out collage of the quarry and map of Collinsvale, a conversation box ‘How did the aborigines keep warm in Collinsvale', several small books ‘Pets', ‘Bugs', ‘The Night Book', ‘Smelling the Quarry', two photo albums, Jessica's poem ‘Home', postcards from Collinsvale, a flip book ‘Past, Present & Future', and two small figures. Stage two of the project was planned to create a CD Rom using the same source material.
