Oneness Productions travelled to the remote Aboriginal communities in the Nyaanyatjirra lands, central WA. The communities visited were Wanarn, Warburton and Jameson, in which creative arts workshops were conducted with school children and youth. Workshops incorporated music, dance, painting and visual arts while focussing on the themes of respect, working together and creativity. Mural paintings were created in each community, on banners, school walls and local health clinics. Focus topics included: health, happiness, community well-being and vision for the future. One highlight of the project was being involved in the annual “Dust-Up” Festival, held in Warburton, allowing over 200 children and youth from eight remote communities to be involved with arts workshops. Communities represented each year at the Festival are: Jameson, Blackstone, Tjurrkarli, Tjurkurla, Wanarn, Warakurna, Warburton and Wingellina.
