Project Description
|
|
The project involved collaboration between community groups and professional artists which resulted in the production of new songs, music, puppets and visual arts which each addressed an aspect of change and sustainability in the local area. Issues that became the subject of puppetry and songs included feral cats, fire prevention and survival, the Dandenong Ranges amphipod and the role of the local Shire. Key success factors for the project were the enormous support and participation of the local community and relationships with local authorities such as the Shire of Yarra Ranges, fire brigades and Parks Victoria. The Changes in the Ranges concert was held outdoors in a National Park with a cast of 300+ and an audience of 1000+.
